AA-6200 User$1400

Covers the AA-6200 Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, the ASC-6100 Autosampler and the associated software. Users will learn to use and maintain the units in hands-on laboratory practice sessions. The mercury vapor unit (MVU-1) and/or hydride vapor generator (HVG-1) will be covered if requested at time of registration.

Prerequisite: working knowledge of the MS WindowsTM Operating System.

AA-6300 User$1400

Course covers the AA-6300 Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Autosampler, Graphite Furnace and associated software.Users will learn to use and maintain the units in the hands-on laboratory practice sessions.

The Mercury Vapor Unit (MVU-1) and/or the Hydride Vapor Generator (HVG-1) will be covered if requested at time of registration

Prerequisite: Working Knowledge of MS Windows TM Operating System

Note: Flame micro-sampling MUST be requested at time of registration if it is of interest.

CLASS-VPTM Version 7.x Administration$1400

Course covers the protocols needed to set up and administer the CLASS-VP TM 7.x software package in a secure Client/Server mode.

Prerequisite: working knowledge of the MS Windows TM Operating system.

CLASS-VPTM Version 7.x Basics$2200

Introduces CLASS-VPTM 7.x concepts using a structured approach to sample analysis and parameter setting. The 1:1 student/PC ratio in the PC Lab enables practical learning plus there is a hands-on session running a sample using HPLC and/or GC equipment.

Course does NOT include Photodiode Array use, Networking, or Client/Serve mode.

Prerequisite: working knowledge of the MS WindowsTMOperating System.

Feb 25-26 

FTIR User Introduction$1400

Introduces Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrophotometer analysis using the Shimadzu FTIR-8000 Series or the Shimadzu FTIR Prestige instruments and associated accessories and/or specialized software products. Hands-on laboratory includes Hyper-IR or the Lab Solutions IR solution software operation, instrument setup and routine maintenance.

Students should indicate at REGISTRATION which hardware/ software packages and accessories are of interest to ensure the most successful class.

Prerequisite: working knowledge of MS WindowsTM Operating System.

Fundamentals of Gas Chromatography$870

An introduction to basic Gas Chromatography principles. Hands-on laboratory covers setup, operation, method development, evaluation, and maintenance of Shimadzu Gas Chromatographs.

Fundamentals of HPLC$870

Introduces fundamental theory and practices of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Laboratory includes sample analysis with various Shimadzu HPLC systems as well as basic HPLC troubleshooting and maintenance using Shimadzu’s LC-10A/10Avp Series or LC-2010 instruments.

Students should indicate at REGISTRATION which instrument modules and software packages are of interest to ensure the most successful class.

GC Solution Basic User / Lab Solutions Software for GC$580

Introduces GCsolution software using a structured approach to sample analysis and parameter setting. The one-to-one student/PC ratio in the PC Lab enables practical learning plus there is a hands-on session running a sample using Shimadzu GC equipment.

Course does NOT include Class Agent.

Prerequisite: Working knowledge of the MS WindowsTM Operating System.

GCMS QP-2010 User Basics$1875

GCMS QP-5000 Series Basics w Class 5000 software$2800

Course is NOT suitable for GCMSsolution (Lab Solutions) Software users.

Prerequisite: working knowledge of the MS WindowsTM Operating System.

Hardness Testing User Introduction$700

The HMV and DXT units are the focus of this introductory class. Lectures will cover theory while the hands-on laboratory will provide practical learning experiences with a variety of hardware setups and sample types.

HPLC maintenance class with emphasis on evaluating performance and preventing/solving problems with the LC-10A/LC-10Avp Series or LC-2010 hardware.

LCMS 2010 Introduction$1300

Introduces Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry concepts, and covers instrument components, software, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and applications. Hands-on practice with the LCMS-2010 in the laboratory sessions is emphasized.

Not suitable for those with the LCMS QP-8000

Prerequisite: completion of Fundamentals of HPLC or understanding of HPLC operation/ maintenance and working knowledge of the MS WindowsTM Operating System.

LCsolution User Basics, Lab Solutions Software for Liquid Chromatography$580

PDA Detector for LC using CLASS-VPTM 7.x$2200

Introduces PDA theory, applications, instrumentation, and operation using the CLASS-VPTM 7.x software. Hands-on laboratory includes method development, data acquisition, post-run reprocessing and troubleshooting.

Prerequisite: completion of CLASS-VPTM 7.x User Basics or adequate experience in the use of the software.

Class is not suitable for CLASS-VPTM 5.x users.

PDA Detector for LC using LCsolution Software$1400

Introduces PDA theory, applications, instrumentation, and operation using the LCsolution software. Hands-on laboratory includes method development, data acquisition, post-run reprocessing, and troubleshooting.

Prerequisite: working knowledge of the MS WindowsTM Operating System and completion of LCsolution User Basics course or adequate experience in the use of the LCsolution software package to acquire data, format reports, and perform other tasks. 
Course is not suitable for Class-VP™ Users.

Rheometry User Introduction for CFT-500$1400

Theory of Rheometry is introduced as it applies to the Shimadzu Capillary Flow Testers. Hands-on laboratory sessions allow the student to set up and use various hardware configurations while learning to calibrate and troubleshoot the CFT-500 Series.

TOC - Self Sufficiency w/TOC-5000 Series$700

A one-day intensive course covering advanced maintenance procedures for the TOC-5000 Series main body and accessories. Students will become familiar with first-level service procedures.

Prerequisite: completion of TOC-5000 Series Workshop and/or complete familiarity with basic user operation and maintenance of the TOC-5000 Series hardware.

Course is not suitable for TOC-V Series Users
