GLUON Software packages for the 4890 Controller

The software uses notched specimens (CT specimens) to evaluate the material elasto-plastic fracture toughness value (JIC). The test is conducted at constant loading rate under test-force control or CTOD control and the load is removed to calculate the crack length. The software plots graphs of the crack length increase (Δa) and crack growth resistance (J value) from the acquired data, calculates the JIC value, and evaluates its validity.

This package provides the specimen with a load such as trapezoidal wave, and records the test force (stress) - displacement (elongation, strain) curve and temperature signals for a specified repeat count. It provides a temperature pattern synchronized with the load and corrects for thermal expansion to enable mechanical strain control and constant constraint rate control. Hysteresis energy and plastic strain can also be calculated from acquired data.

  • Up to ten waveforms comprising multiple steps can be repeated as the load and temperature setting screen loads and temperature signals.
  • Thermal expansion data can be recorded for up to 50 thermal expansion correction data so that mechanical strain control and constant constraint rate control testing can be performing with thermal expansion factored in.

Static Characteristics Testing Applies a constant loading rate to plot test force-displacement curves and to calculate the static spring constant.
Dynamic Characteristics Testing Applies a constant frequency or stepped frequency to calculate dynamic characteristics based on repeated cycles and the frequency.

Features

  • A constant frequency or frequency sweep test can be performed by setting dynamic characteristics. FFT or area can be selected as the characteristics value calculation method.
  • Static characteristics tests and dynamic characteristics tests can be executed continuously.
  • In data processing items, max. test force/displacement, test force of spring calculation point and static spring constant can be calculated as static characteristic values. Absolute spring constant, storage spring constant, loss spring constant, absolute complex modulus of elasticity, storage modulus of elasticity, loss modulus of elasticity, and loss sine can be calculated as dynamic characteristics values.

For Earthquake-Response Testing of Structures

The elastic-plastic response displacement for each input seismic-wave step is taken as the target values and is controlled to reach each layer simultaneously. The Newmark β method is used for the response calculation, but user's individual response calculations can also be conducted on an external PC, for example. Vertical jacks (up to 1 layer) can be used in addition to horizontal jacks (up to 4 layers).

  • The elastic-plastic response displacement at input of the seismic wave can be previewed when previewing this displacement.
