What is Dynamic Image Analysis?
Dynamic image analysis is a method that measures particle size and shape of powders and suspensions. Light is transmitted through a flow cell containing particles in liquid medium. The particles create shadows as they pass through the field of vision of a camera thus producing a multitude of images in seconds. The images are then used to measure size, shape, concentration, etc.
Dynamic Image Analysis is used for a wide variety of applications including paints, pharmaceuticals, lithium-ion batteries, cellulose nanofibers, and metal powders for 3D printers. This technique has become critical for these markets due to its ability to obtain size distributions as well as particle shape and to detect foreign particles.
