In 1895, the German scientist Dr. Wilhelm Röntgen discovered x-rays, earning him the first Nobel Prize in Physics. Less than one year later, Genzo Shimadzu Jr. successfully generated x-rays for the first time in Japan. In 1909, Shimadzu released Japan’s first medical x-ray system and, in 1933, Shimadzu released Japan’s first industrial x-ray inspection system. As a pioneer in x-ray systems, Shimadzu continues to be at the cutting edge of industrial x-ray testing systems.
