1 kN Eccentric Roller Grips

These eccentric roller grips are specifically designed for tensile testing flexible materials, such as rubber, soft plastics, and semi-rigid plastics. Named after the non-symmetric roller design, these grips employ a simple and quick clamping mechanism. Their self-tightening action and serrated roller faces maintain clamping of the specimen during testing regardless of any thinning that occurs.
Relevant Materials
Rubber, Soft Plastics, Semi-Rigid Plastics
Relevant Specimens
Plates, Strips
Operation
Open the grip faces by rotating the lever away from the joint. Place the specimen into the grips and rotate the handle towards the joint to clamp the sample. Repeat this process for the opposing grip. As the sample is loaded, the rollers rotate, causing a self-tightening action that increases the clamping force in order to maintain a secure grip on the material.
