Pharmaceuticals and life sciences analysis

  • Strong performance for diverse scientific research applications

Busy pharmaceutical and life sciences laboratories demand instruments that are precise, durable and efficient. The UV-1900i system is the optimal choice for routine pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and life science analyses, quality assurance and R&D. Applications include DNA and protein quantitation, dissolution testing and thermal melt analysis of biomolecules.

For example, you can use the UV-1900i UV-Vis spectrophotometer for nucleic acid quantitation. Trace quantities down to 0.7 μL can be measured using a TrayCell® or Nano Stick. Using TrayCell, a calibration curve for 4 μL of λDNA was obtained in the range between 25 ng/μL and 500 ng/μL. Bio methods come standard on the front panel to quickly run routine tests without the need of a PC.

Food and beverage analysis

  • Food and beverage analysis with UV-Vis
  • Fast, reliable analysis of ingredients and contaminants

Food and beverage quality and safety are paramount concerns and UV-Vis spectroscopy is an important way to help ensure that products meet quality standards and are safe for consumption. The UV-1900i system is used to analyze food and beverages for adulteration, additives and preservatives, heavy metals, plastic and microplastic packaging materials, color and unknown contaminants.

Here is an example of food dye analysis. You can use the ultra-fast scan mode to shorten the time needed for routine spectral checks. The 350 nm to 900 nm region can be measured at 1 nm intervals in approximately four seconds.

Beer Analyzer is optional software for the UV-1900i that allows for brewers to easily analyze the color, polyphenols, alcohol content and bitterness. Based on ASBC Standard Methods.

Chemistry analysis of materials

  • High-throughput for analyzing the chemistry of diverse materials samples

The UV-1900i UV-Vis spectrophotometer is a fundamental instrument used in chemistry for analyzing the absorption and transmission of light by chemical substances. It is widely used in quantitative analysis to determine the concentration of a substance in a solution, qualitative analysis to identify unknown compounds or determine the presence of specific functional groups, reaction monitoring and the characterization of chemical substances and reactions.

Here is an example of colored cellophane tape analysis. You can quantitatively confirm materials using LabSolutions UV-Vis and color measurement software.
