Similar to the keyboard compression test jig, the key press test jig is for compression testing keys. It differs in that the compression plate material is silicon rubber and the plate diameter is smaller, 3 mm (0.12 in). This smaller size enables this jig to be used to test keys on a range of smaller electronic devices, such as mobile phones and calculators.
The key press test jig is available both as a set and a kit. The set includes the upper plate, a compression and bending loading jig, and a specimen fixing plate. The kit, in addition to the upper plate and compression and bending loading jig, includes a stage and vice set for clamping the specimen.
Due to the inclusion of a compression and bending loading jig in both the key press test jig set and kit, each set or kit should be ordered according to the capacity and type of load cell to which it will be mounted. Compatible load cells are AG-X plus series and AGS-X series 50 N (11 lbf) to 10 kN (2,200 lbf) capacity load cells.
