Automating Therapeutic Drug Monitoring on the Open Architecture CLAM-2040 Platform
William Clarke, PhD, MBA, DABCC
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
Dr. Clarke will provide an overview of challenges that accompany use of mass spectrometry in a hospital, the importance of automation in the process, and the importance of flexibility when evaluating opportunities for laboratory developed tests (LDTs). He will then provide an overview of the CLAM technology and how it can address some of the challenges in the field, as well as describe the experience in his lab with the technology. Last, Dr. Clarke will share data from validation of a commercial kit for tricyclic antidepressants.

Engineering the Future of Clinical Laboratory Science: Innovative Technology for Impactful Solutions
Nigel Clarke, PhD
Dr. Clarke will explore how innovative laboratory technologies are shaping the future of clinical research and analytical testing. His presentation will touch on the diverse needs of clinical laboratories, from steady, robust applications to highly demanding esoteric assays. Throughout this discussion, Dr. Clarke will highlight how Shimadzu’s unique technology, such as the CLAM-2040 and the Nexera QX Multiplexing module are working to provide flexible, reliable, and automated solutions for the modern clinical laboratory.
