Process Control Monitoring in Wastewater Treatment
Continuous monitoring for TOC (BOD or COD by calculation) or nutrients, such as Total Nitrogen (TN) and Total Phosphorus (TP) provides plant operations with near real time results allowing efficient and cost-effective decisions during the water treatment process. Though EPA has yet to approve, except for pH, continuous monitoring methods in wastewater, they are useful for process control. Shimadzu instruments closely follow ASTM, Standard Methods, or EPA methods for TOC, TN, and TP ensuring that results will duplicate results obtained using the laboratory methods.
