Miscellaneous Test Methods for Solid Waste Analysis

Miscellaneous Test Methods for the Analysis of Solid Waste

Miscellaneous methods are found in the 9000 series SW-846 methods and are used to determine a variety of inorganic or organic parameters ranging including TOC, cyanides, inorganic anions, phenolics, and PCBs. Use a Shimadzu UV-Visible spectrophotometer to determine cyanides or phenolics after distillation, or a Shimadzu Ion Chromatograph to determine inorganic anions, such as total fluorine or EOX, in waste products after combustion in a bomb calorimeter. And don’t forget the Shimadzu TOC-L, the most reliable TOC analyzer available, to determine TOC using Method 9060A.

TOC-L HTCO TOC Analyzer

SW-846 Method 9060A is a high-temperature catalytic oxidation (HTCO) or wet chemical oxidation method for the analysis of TOC. The Shimadzu TOC-L HTCO TOC analyzer is rapid and precise, and capable of determining TOC in samples with high dissolved solids and suspended solid concentrations. The SSM-5000A enables measurement of TOC in solid samples and soil.
